Duo campaigns for D&D 5e
two player D&D campaign

Two heroes. Nobody else at the table.

Campaigns written for exactly two players, where the story runs on what the pair of you know, owe, and hide from each other.

An account is required to play. A card is not.

Two players is the hardest table to run for. One of you has to be the Dungeon Master, which leaves a party of one, or you both play and nobody runs the game. Published adventures assume four heroes and fall over with two.

Here the game is the Dungeon Master, so both of you get to play, and these campaigns are written for a pair from the first scene. The plots depend on two characters with a shared past: a wound you both carry, two memories of one murder, two contracts with the same devil.

Choose your partner in trouble.

Two Against the World is $4.99, bought once and kept. An account is required, and campaign packs need a plan with unlimited turns. Legendary members get a pack credit every month.

Thrain Mapcarver

A boisterous dwarf scholar-explorer who treats every dungeon as an unread chapter and every party as the heroes of a chronicle still being written. Equal parts archaeologist, bard, and theatrical expedition leader.

Every campaign here comes with the Dungeon Master included. Thrain narrates the scenes, voices the characters, and keeps the dice honest, so nobody at your table has to run the game.

Frequently asked questions

The practical details before you begin.

Can you play D&D with only two players?
Yes, as long as nobody has to give up their seat to run the game. With an AI Dungeon Master both people play characters. The remaining problem is the adventure itself, since most are balanced for four, which is why these campaigns are written and scaled for exactly two.
Does the second player need their own subscription?
No. One of you hosts the campaign and sends the other an invite link. The guest joins and plays free. Only the host's plan matters, and a free account is enough to start the standard-library campaigns on this page.
Is this good for a couple?
It works well. A two-player campaign fits an evening, needs no scheduling with a wider group, and the duo stories lean on trust, banter, and the occasional betrayal, which partners tend to be good at.
How do I get the two-player campaign pack?
The pack is a single purchase that your account keeps. It requires a plan with unlimited turns, as the free plan's turn limit ends well before a pack of campaigns does. A Legendary membership includes a pack credit each month.
Do we have to play at the same time?
No. You can sit down together and play live, or take turns whenever each of you has a few minutes. The campaign holds its place, so a story can run across a week of short visits.
