Every item your character picked up, bought, or was given stays in the pack, and every coin stays in the purse. Equipment travels with the hero into the next campaign, tracked by the same rules engine that recorded it in the first.
Your character carries everything forward.
Persistent D&D characters belong to you, not to one campaign. Every item, coin, and level earned in play travels with your hero into the next story.

TableForge is built the tabletop way. The game engine runs the game, and the AI DM narrates on top of it, so what your character earns is kept and carried into the next story.
The record is the hero.
A TableForge character is a single record that campaigns borrow. The rules engine writes to it during play, and when the campaign ends, the record is still yours.
XP earned in play is written to the character, not the campaign. A level 6 fighter who finishes one story starts the next as a level 6 fighter, with the same subclass, proficiencies, and level-up choices.
Achievements unlock from what actually happened at the table and are recorded to your Hall of Deeds. They belong to you as a player, across every character and campaign you play, and an ending never takes them away.
A campaign ends. The character does not.
Endings are a real event in TableForge, not an abandoned save. Here is what happens when a story reaches its conclusion.
- The Dungeon Master proposes an ending. When the story reaches a natural close, the AI DM writes the ending: a title, a summary, an epilogue for each character, and a one-line hook for a future adventure. The host approves it or keeps playing.
- Your character is released, rested, and ready. An approved ending frees every character from the campaign. Hit points, spell slots, and hit dice refresh as if after a long rest. Inventory, gold, and levels stay exactly as they were earned.
- Start the next chapter with the same hero. Continue straight into a new adventure with that character, bring the whole party along, or take the hero into any campaign a friend is hosting. The new world starts fresh. Your character does not.
The engine owns the record, so nothing is invented between stories.
A narrator can describe a magic sword. Only a game system can guarantee it is still in your pack three campaigns later. TableForge keeps character state in structured records that the rules engine reads and writes: the AI DM narrates what happens, and the engine records what is now true.
That is what makes a persistent character honest. Nothing on the sheet was typed in by a story model, and nothing is quietly dropped when the scene changes. Over months of play the sheet becomes a history: the armor from the first dungeon, the gold from the caravan job, the level earned in the siege.
A character is in one campaign at a time. Between campaigns it waits on your character list, ready for the next story.
One sheet, every campaign.
The character sheet is the same page in every world your hero visits: the gear she wears, the pack she carries, and the gold she has earned along the way.
Vessa Duskbargain, a tiefling warlock, on her equipment tab: worn gear, an eight-item pack, and the gold that follows her from campaign to campaign.
